A therapist once said: When you survive narcissistic abuse on a scale like you have, then you’re a superhero. I totally agree. It’s mind-blowing when you find out that because of your upbringing, you tend to gravitate towards more abuse even in adulthood. Which makes sense. Still trying to accommodate and please the narcissist’s desires, you naturally continue to do that with everyone!

Because while it is happening, you think you’ve lost your mind, and that you’re the only idiot on the planet who can’t figure out how life works.
